Parish Plan
Barkway School Art Competition
As part of the Parish Plan process of involving
all sections of the community, the Steering Group organised, through
Barkway VA First School, an art competition for the pupils. The children
were asked to paint pictures based on the theme of "what they like about
Barkway". Eight entries were received and were of a very good standard.
It was decided to award a first prize to the winning entry and
certificates of achievement to all those who entered. Presentation of
the prize and certificates was made at the School assembly on Friday
29th January by the Reverend Sonia Falaschi-Ray and Cecelia van der
Heijden, two members of the Parish Plan Steering Group, who also judged
the competition. It is planned that some of the entries will be
reproduced as part of the Parish Plan document and will also be
submitted for inclusion in the Diary. Thanks to the School for agreeing
to organise the competition and one never knows, we may have unearthed a
budding Rembrandt.
